Wyoming Accommodations Manual for Instruction and Assessment

The current federal mandates, the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 (as well as the state mandate, Enrolled Act II) require that all students participate in all district and statewide assessments with appropriate accommodations as necessary. In order to meet these mandates, Wyoming has responded by developing a statewide assessment and educational accountability system, of which state assessments are only one component. This system is used to provide teachers with important information regarding what knowledge and skills their students possess and information about the overall success of schools and districts in Wyoming. The Wyoming Accommodations Manual for Instruction and Assessment was developed in order to assist Local Education Agencies in deciding how to select, administer, and evaluate the use of accommodations for the instruction and assessment of students with disabilities.
